Gujarat Governor and Chief Minister distributes Best Teacher awards to 44 teachers

    Gandhinagar, Monday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel on the occasion of Teacher’s Day while honouring the 44 best teacher award winners of the state clearly stated that Education is the solution to all problems. He also added that education is an essential factor for the overall development of the state and society.

    In the presence of Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat, Education Department of Gujarat Government organized Best Teacher Award Distribution and Students felicitation Program on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.

    Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel honoured the 44 state prize winning teachers with shawls, letters of appreciation and awards. Also 6 students were honoured for their excellence in the presence of Education Minister Shri Jitu Vaghani and Minister of State Shri Kirtisinh Vaghela

     

    Governor:-

    Governor Acharya Devvrat on the occasion of Teacher’s Day called upon teachers to make students physically strong, intellectually awakened and excellent in academics.

    Appreciating the efforts of the Gujarat Government in the education sector, the Governor said that in the last six and a half (6.5) years in Gujarat, a large number of students have taken admission in government schools from private schools. This is a remarkable achievement by Gujarat in the field of  education system which goes to shows that the hard work and dedication put in by the teachers and the education system of state and thus have succeeded  in winning both the heart and trust of the parents.

    Teacher’s Day which is celebrated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a lifelong teacher himself. Governor too shared his memories of his 35 years service as Principal.

    The point to be noted here is that, Governor Shri became the Principal of Kurukshetra Gurukul at the age of 21. He presented in detail the motivational story of how he has made the  Principal of Kurukshetra Gurukul a leader as a result of many innovative ideas, innovative initiatives, welfare oriented works and dedication, while occupying this position in the same Gurukul for 35 consecutive years.

    Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that Gujarat and the entire country has developed a work culture of turning calamity into opportunity and he encouraged the teachers and students by describing the changed situation after the Kutch earthquake in Gujarat.

    The Governor also referred to the natural agriculture initiative to bring about a radical change in the agricultural sector in the state along with the traditional education system, improving the quality of the soil, increasing the crop production and inspired the people to adopt the natural agriculture system by describing its benefits.

    Shri Devvrat expressed the feeling that besides parents Guru has the pivotal place in the life of every person and only these persons become the best guides in life.

    Addressing the teachers, students and all the people present on this occasion, the Governor said, Shaping up the life of  people is the most difficult task.

    Only the person who adopts the style of remaining happy in happiness of others and remains sad in the sorrows of others can only set an example of human and humanity in the true sense.

    On this occasion, he also requested all the parents and teachers to assimilate the life stories and autobiographies of the great men to the children as well as the students.

     

    Chief Minister:-

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed the view that the award winning teachers have become an inspiration for all others and said that, Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is entering the Amrit Kaal by celebrating the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

    For this Amrit Kaal the Prime Minister has given five resolutions to the people of nation which include building a developed India, taking pride in our heritage, uprooting the mentality of slavery and promoting unity.

    In this context the Chief Minister said, Only teachers can shape and prepare the next generation to realize all these resolutions for the Amrit Kaal of the country.

    Stating that Gujarat is the only state in the country where technology-based evaluation of primary education schools is done, the Chief Minister added that under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has received a new direction through Vidya Samiksha Kendra to monitor the educational system through technology.

    Chief Minister further said that, As a result of Gujarat’s education system today, thousands of students and their parents have shown faith in government educational institutions and systems, by switching over from  private schools to  government schools.

    The drop out ratio in the state has come down from 37 percent to 2 to 3 percent as a result of Shala Praveshotsav and Gunotsav.

    Gujarat government by linking technology with state education by adopting the approach of smart school, digital education.

    By remembering Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a lifelong teacher Chief Minister called upon people present to take a leaf out of the life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to be lifelong learners.

    On this occasion Education Minister Shri Jitu Vaghani said that, Under the direction of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the double engine government is living the slogan of ‘Baal Devo Bhav’.

    The Minister said that the state government has taken efforts to provide best education to students by taking various initiatives in the field of education. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has raised the identity of Master to Guru.

    By stating that Education is a noble profession not for “wages” but for the service of “motherland”: Education Minister Shri Jitu Vaghani said that, teachers are playing a key role in building nation through showing consciousness towards their duty.

    44 best teachers and 6 students of the state were honoured by the dignitaries for their excellence in the field of education and for the good work of nation building through education.

    Minister of state for education Shri Kirtisinh Vaghela, Ahmedabad Mayor Shri Kirit Parmar, MP Shri  Hasmukh Patel, MLA Shri Rakesh Shah, Principal Secretary of Education Department Shri S.J. Haider, Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education Shri Vinod Rao along with a large number of teachers, students were present for this occasion.
