CM kick starts the state-level “Gyan Shakti Divas” program from Mahatma Mandir

Under “Panch Varsh Apni Sarkarna- Sauna Sath Sauna Vikas na”

Developmental works of more than 15 thousand crores at more than 18 thousand places- Chief Minister

Not the celebration of 5 years of Good Governance, but an attempt to connect people through public welfare works- Education Minister

Total 151 programs were organized across the state to mark “Gyan Shakti Divas”

Gandhinagar, Sunday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today kick stated the state-level “Gyan Shakti Divas” program from Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar to mark the completion of five years of Good Governance. He said that this is not a celebration of completion of five years but we have made an attempt to serve the public on this special occasion.

In this context, Mr. Rupani said that under “Panch Varsh Apni Sarkarna- Sauna Sath Sauna Vikas na” more than 15 thousand crore developmental works, works of public service/ interest/welfare will be carried out in the state from August 1st to 9th at more than 18 thousand places across the state.

Mr. Rupani dedicated and laid foundation stone of various schemes of education department under the “Gyan Shakti Divas”. Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, BJP State President and Navsari MP Mr. C. R. Patil, Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Kailasanathan and other leaders of the education sector, beneficiaries and youth joined on the occasion.

Mr. Rupani said that education is the main pillar for the progress and economic and social development of any state, nation or society. That is why the government has given the first priority to education and allocated a huge budget of Rs. 31,000 crore.

Not only that, we have a commitment to provide world class education to take Gujarat to a new global height of development. Opposing this works of public interest- public welfare- public service revels your mind-set of anti-Gujarat, anti-development mentality, said CM.

Pointing the opposition CM said that, people also gave you opportunity to serve but you could not do it and now you come up to oppose this developmental activities being carried out by our Government.  He made it clear that people of Gujarat have now come to know your mentality and will not be fooled by your protest or opposing.

Mr. Rupani said that the state government has come up with several successful works of enhancing education facilities in five years. We are moving forward with the aim of holistic development of Gujarat for which the foundation stone was laid by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

CM added that in the last five years, new techniques in education, emphasis on modernization, quality education and world class education have been provided from the school level. As many as 16,000 classrooms in the state have become smart classes and education is given through projection and not black board. Internet connectivity is also provided to more than 30,500 schools.

Pointing the oppositions of education system, CM said that in the last five years, more than 3 lakh students have dropped out of private schools and got admission in government schools. He said that by initiating sectoral universities in Gujarat, 77 universities from 11 universities have been created to impart world class knowledge to the youth. He said that this century is the century of knowledge economy and it is certain that Gujarat is going to dominate the knowledge economy.

Mr. Rupani said that, now we have to move towards the School of Excellence and raise the intellectual level of children and youth. At the same time, we need to create the dignity of our ancient university Takshashila, Vallabhi Nalanda that students from abroad come here to take education in Gujarat.

CM also detailed on the 3 lakh NAMO tablets been provided to the students to bring the world to their finger points. He expressed confidence that the initiative taken by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Bhai Modi for a new education policy would open up new opportunities for modern and up-to-date education. UPA governments have not formulated any education policy but Mr. Bhai has formulated a new education policy with aim to provide world class education facility.

He said in this century of knowledge, the youth, children, students of Gujarat will move ahead in the coming years with many programs and schemes that will keep Gujarat at the forefront of education in the country.

Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama expressing this feeling of proud to be a part of state government said that, five years ago, our government led by CM Mr. Vijay Rupani and Dy. CM Mr. Nitin Patel had made four promises to the people of the state to be decisive, sensitive, transparent and progressive. GoG has fulfilled all four promises. Not only that, today’s event is not a five-year celebration, but is and attempt to connect the people through public welfare works.

Referring to the opposition of the state government’s performance, Mr. Chudasama said that the basic education of the child was kept raw by introducing a ‘No Detention Policy’ during their tenure. However, the government led by PM Mr. Modi has amended the new education policy to ensure that the student foundation does not remain raw.

Giving a glimpse of the last five years of the state government, Mr. Chudasama said that today Gujarat is surplus in electricity, food grains are distributed to 3.46 crore people of the state under the Food Security Act, scholarships and uniforms are given to students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes from Std. 1 to 10. The goal of the ‘Nal Se Jal’ scheme is to ensure that no village in the state is deprived of drinking water by the year 2022. Gujarat is the only state with schemes – vahli dikri yojana, MAA Yojana, schemes for Ganga Swarupa mothers and sisters and the elderly. The government has taken all the responsibility of delivering rations to pregnant and nursing mothers at their homes.

Today, the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, which is the pride of Gujarat, was initially criticized by many opponents, but the world has appreciated it. Today 15 thousand people visit this statue daily. Which provides employment opportunities to several people. Gujarat has got AIIMS and Rajkot International Airport in the last five years due to the state government’s relationship with the central government. Apart from Dholera Sir, in addition to the expressway, important decisions have been taken for the happiness, peace and security of the citizens, including the Gunda Act, the Cow Slaughter Act, and assistance to cowherds.

Our government provides electricity to the farmers during the day time so they can complete their work during the day time and can stay with family and can take rest after his work. In 2017 Mr. Rupani celebrated his birthday staying among with the citizen affected from flood during the heavy rains in Banaskantha. Not only that, in case of heavy rains in 2017, low rainfall in 2018, non-seasonal rains in 2019 and in 2020, assistance of total Rs. 9552 crores have been provided to the farmers.

Talking about the transparency of the state government, Mr. Chudasama said that online NA, faceless appointment system, online operation in any recruitment, transfer or promotion is a proof of transparency. Not only that, Gujarat was the only state to take timely decision, review, observation, planning during COVID-19 pandemic. Today, if any government employee dies due to corona, the state government provides assistance of Rs. 25 lakh and Rs 4,000 per month for those who have lost their parents due to corona. Inspired by this sensitivity of the state government, the Mumbai-based organization has shown readiness to pay up to Rs 50,000 in private school fees for such children.

Our Government already starts preparations in advance, during COVID-19 Pandemic and also during the Tauktae cyclone, due to which lives of many people were saved and the number of casualties was brought down through the solid planning of the state government.

The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel had done everything for the benefit of the people and in the interest of the people.

Navsari MP Mr. C. R. Patil praising the five years of good governance of the state government said that, Gujarat is the only state in the country which organizes a series of public welfare programs for nine consecutive days to give an account of its five years of performance to the people. He expressed his hopefulness that these programs should be included in the Guinness world record book.

He wished Mr. Rupani in advance for his birthday and said that, state government has built a technological infrastructure which is unmatched in any other state of the country to increase the coverage of education in the state and provide quality education. the government has paid special attention to provide world class education to the children. The role of education is vital for the overall development of the state and the facilities provided in the government schools of the state have made it possible for parents today to send their children from private schools to government schools.

A total of 151 programs were organized across the state under the theme “Gyan Shakti Divas”. Under Gyankunj project, 12 thousand smart classes in 3659 schools built at a cost of Rs. 135 crore were also inaugurated by the Chief Minister today. 1050 school rooms constructed at a cost of Rs. 95 crore, 71 panchayat houses constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.26 crore, Dholka and Navsari taluka panchayat buildings constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.80 crore were inaugurated. Computer labs were also inaugurated in 256 secondary schools built at a cost of Rs. 35 crore.

Scholarships were distributed to 1000 Ph.D. students under Shodh Yojana, assistance for higher education was distributed to 2008 students under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana as well as Namo e-tablets were distributed. As well as MoUs were signed with 16 colleges and universities in the state under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy. As well foundation stones were laid for various 647 school rooms in the state at a cost of Rs. 58 crore, 144 panchayat houses at a cost of Rs. 2076 crore.

Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Kailasanathan, Additional Chief Secretary to Revenue – Home Department Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Secretary of Education Department Mr. S. J. Haider, Primary and Secondary Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao, Gandhinagar District Collector, Gandhinagar Municipal Commissioner and other high officials of various departments, Chancellors of various universities, principals, professors as well as beneficiaries of various schemes remained present.
