Chief Minister chaired High level meeting of doctors-ministers-senior secretaries of Covid Task Force

“Need for advance planning and preparedness down to micro level to augment infrastructure in case of third wave of coronavirus”  – Vijay Rupani 

Gandhinagar, Monday: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani convened a meeting of high-level Covid Task Force at his residence here today for advance planning and preparedness just in case of third wave of coronavirus as apprehended by global medical experts.

The meeting that lasted for three hours was attended by, medical experts, GBRC scientists, ministers and senior government secretaries. It also discussed the pros and cons of Mucormycosis.

Although there is fall in the number of daily cases from 14,000 to 11,000 over the last one week due to the state government’s persistent efforts to control and combat the pandemic with experts’ and people’s cooperation, he said, there is need for action plan and microplanning to strengthen the health infrastructure like hospital beds, oxygen supply, medical protocols and treatment.

Mr. Rupani said we should learn from our experience and treatment procedures during the first and second waves of the pandemic to keep the incidence and fatality under check.

He called upon medical and other experts to join the government efforts in disseminating information and publicity for vaccination.

Those who attended the meeting included Ahmedabad-based Apex Heart Institute cardiologist chairman Padma Shree Dr Tejas Patel, Gandhinagar-based Institute of Public Health Dr Dilip Mavlankar, Zydus and Sterling Hospitals’ Infection Division director Dr Atul Patel, Sterling Hospital critical care specialist and pulmonologist Dr Tushar Patel, Apollo Hospital critical care specialist Dr Maharshi Desai to share their experience in line of treatment.

It was also attended by Education Minister Bhupendasinh Chudasma, Energy Minister Saurabh Patel, Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Additional Chief Secretaries Pankaj Kumar and M. K. Das, Principal Health Secretary Jayanti Ravi and others.
