Gandhinagar, August 13: Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel flagged off Tiranga Yatra from Ghatlodiya Ward Office to Nirnay Nagar, organized by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. An overwhelming atmosphere was visible in the parliamentary constituency of the Union Home Minister and the assembly constituency of the Chief Minister.

Addressing the occasion Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said The Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi has presented this year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav before the people with a very noble spirit.
We have achieved freedom after struggling for 90 years, from 1857 to 1947.
Millions of people struggled and sacrificed their lives during this passage to attain freedom. Many brave revolutionaries died on the battlefield along with many brave martyrs including Bhagat Singh, Khudiram Bose, and Babu Kunwar Singh were martyred chanting the slogan of “Inquilab Zindabad”. The sacrifices given by our soldiers for the nation are not just sacrifices, but their sacrifices are the rites of living for the future generation and our country.

Emphasizing the fact that our country has entered its 75th year of independence, Shri Amit Shah said that our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has created a bond of patriotism among the people of the country. Prime Minister has called upon everyone to celebrate the passage of 15th August 2023 to 15th August 2047 as Azadi ka Amrit Kaal. During this journey from 75 to 100 years of the country, we citizens must be determined to contribute towards keeping our nation at the forefront. This period of Amrit Kaal is very vital for the young generation. The youth significantly contributed to leading the freedom movement during those 90 years to free the nation from slavery.

The next 25 years will be dedicated by the youth towards making India ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Speaking about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaigns, Shri Amit Shah said that last year all the citizens of the country participated with great enthusiasm in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The huge crowd gathered along with the tricolour shows the success of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
Last year, the tricolour was hoisted on top of every house in the country. This year, people are enthusiastic about participating in this campaign again.

In Gujarat, people are also enthusiastically participating in this campaign to hoist tricolours on more than one crore houses and collect soil from every village and deliver it to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister called upon the citizens of the country to participate in this campaign by hoisting tricolours on top of their homes and uploading selfies on social media platforms.

Considering the Tiranga Yatra and hoisting of tricolour as an integral part of our country, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that earlier there was a struggle to hoist the tricolour in Kashmir.

In the past, our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had courageously hoisted the tricolour in Kashmir. The duo of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah have put in the efforts so that the future generation can hoist the tricolour in any part of the country. Moreover, they have united the nation by abrogating Article 370 from Kashmir, because of which the tricolour can be seen proudly fluttering high in the air in Kashmir.

Today, under the leadership of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, we have succeeded in overcoming terrorism and anti-national activities. Security forces including police forces, CRPF, BSF, and Para Force across the country have made the country proud today.

Speaking about ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaigns, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that last year following the call of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the tricolour was hoisted in every house across the country, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. People across the country actively and zealously participated in this campaign. This year too as a part of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaigns, the national festival will be celebrated across the country.

Last year we took up a campaign to hoist more than 1 crore tricolours to mark the celebration of 75 years of independence as a part of which the entire Gujarat was transformed into a tricolour. The city of Ahmedabad situated on the banks of the Sabarmati river has made an invaluable contribution in awakening the spirit of freedom. To hoist more than 1 crore tricolours across Gujarat including Ahmedabad has been planned this year too. This ‘Tiranga Yatra’ is a great example of how the people of Ahmedabad have come up with the colours of tricolour.

The CM continued and said that many events are hidden behind the independence achieved by our country. The tricolour symbolizes our national unity, integrity and ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’. We have entered Amrit Kaal by celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which is a moment we all should be proud of. If we all follow our duty with sincerity, we can achieve the India that our freedom fighters dreamed of.
Being a leader in the freedom struggle, Gujarat will give its full support to make India atmanirbhar and developed in 2047 by making the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaigns a success. Our Prime Minister has given us five resolutions during this Amrit Kaal, among which the second resolution is the elimination of any trace of the colonial mindset. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the parliament has recently introduced new laws protecting the constitutional rights of the citizens of the country by abolishing three old laws which symbolized slavery. These laws have implemented strict provisions for strengthening criminal justice in the country and protecting women. CM added.

Chief Minister urged the gathering to join the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign to strengthen nationalism and show our patriotism by uploading our selfies on social media platforms and also by hoisting tricolours on top of their homes.

The dignitaries were welcomed with music played by the police band present. The dignitaries present along with a parade of various police forces led by a platoon commando flagged off the Tiranga Yatra. All the dignitaries present including Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel then joined the people in the Tiranga Yatra.
