MLAs, Corporators and Municipality Members can now contribute up to 20% from their grants for devt. works in private societies

    For the 20 percent contribution amount to be paid by private societies for public participation component works under ‘Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana’, now 20 percent, instead of 10, can be allocated from grants of MLAs – corporators – municipal members with their consent

    Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Regarding the component works through public participation under ‘Swarnim Jayanti Shaheri Vikas Yojana’ in metros – towns of the state, the 20 per cent contribution amount to be paid by residents of private societies, housing board colonies and flats can now be allocated from the grants of MLAs, corporators, municipal members with their consent.

    As per the existing provision under the public participation component in ‘Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana’, in order to carry out works of asphalt or stone paving on internal roads, resurfacing, cement concrete roads, street lights, water pipeline, water harvesting, paving of common plots, and underground sewer works for residents of private societies, housing board colonies and flats, 70% of the contribution is to be borne by the government grant, 20% by private society and 10% by the local body.

    CM has taken an important decision that now 20 percent amount instead of previous 10 percent can be allocated from the grants of MLAs, corporators and municipal members with their consent in the 20 percent public contribution amount to be paid by private societies for the works under public participation component.

    CM has also given instructions to the Planning Division and Urban Development Department to issue necessary orders in this regard immediately.
