Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan today dedicated the newly build super specialty hospital at Rajkot Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College and Civil Hospital at a cost of Rs. 150 crores in collaboration with Government of India in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has implemented various new schemes for the welfare of the nation. Ordinary hospital of Rajkot has been converted into a super specialty hospital.
The inauguration of such hospitals indicate that patients will get treatment locally in case of serious diseases like heart, brain and kidney. GoI has made AIIMS available at 22 places in the nation. Along with super specialty hospital Rajkot also have AIIMS.
Mr. Vardhan said that 157 Medical colleges are under construction in the nation. GoI will build medical colleges in 57 backward districts. Pradhan Mantri Aayushman Yojana is not a scheme of the nation but it’s world’s leading scheme.
Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani said that the super specialty hospital in Rajkot is being built at a cost of Rs. 150 Crores. It is equipped with advance technologies. The work of AIIMS is under process. The super specialty hospital is being constructed keeping in mind that people have health issue from Saurashtra do not need to go away from Rajkot. The central-state government has made arrangements to provide free medical care to middle class and poor people.
Center and the state government are committed to mobilize development by making the country fit and healthy through various health-related schemes. Government is concerned about the health of the people in view of future challenges. Mr. Rupani thanked the Central Government for their cooperation in the Super Specialty Hospital.
Deputy Chief Minster Mr. Nitin Patel said that the works of Rajkot AIIMS will be taken on hands soon. The super specialty hospital built at a cost of Rs. 150 crores will be very useful for building fit and healthy Gujarat. Total 9 lakh 70 thousand patients have been inspected and treated in Rajkot Civil hospital. Out of which 1 lakh 1 thousand patients were hospitalized and treated.
Rajkot’s Super Specialist Hospital not only has the building but also recruits new specialist doctors, nurses and technical staff. In order to facilitate the operation and treatment of complex and serious diseases to the people of Rajkot at their doorsteps.
It is worth to note here that there are 238 beds and there are around 8 specialty wards, With Nephrology and urology wards on the first floor, cardiology wards on the second floor, neurology wards on the third floor, burns, plastic surgery and pediatricians on the fourth floor, ICU, Cath lab and Operation Theater on the fifth floor. Department of Pediatric Surgery has 300 beds.
On the occasion MP Mr. Mohanbhai Kundariya, Mayor Smt. Binaben Acharya, MLA’s Mr. Govindbhai Patel, Mr. Ravindbhai Raiyani, Mr. Lakhabhai Sagahthiya, Chairman of Gujarat Municipal Finance Board, Leaders, Former MLA’s, District BJP Head, Deputy Mayor, Police Commissioner, Additional Resident Collector, medical superintendent and Deputy Director of Medical Department remained present.
