CM Sanctions grant of ₹5.60 crore to 1 municipal corporation and 3 municipalities under SJMSVY

    • A total of 122 different works will be undertaken for the benefit of 3,908 residents in Bhavnagar and Nadiad
    • A total of 4,518 houses will be connected to the main sewage line in Kalawad and Halwad

    Gandhinagar, 18th May 2023: The Municipalities of Bhavnagar, Nadiad, Kalawad, and Halvad have received approval from the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel for a total of ₹5,60,21,914 for various development projects under Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana). The Urban Development Department has submitted proposals for these works.

    Hon’ble CM has allocated ₹1,64,06,000 for 56 works to Nadiad Municipality under Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana) of Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. These works will provide more facilities to 971 families in Nadiad.

    In addition to this, Shri Bhupendra Patel has approved a sum of ₹1,83,94,000 for the Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation. This allocation is designated for the execution of 66 projects under the Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana). The implementation of these projects will benefit a total of 2,937 families.

    The Chief Minister has approved ₹2,11,19,000 for linking the drainage lines of 4,518 households with the primary drainage system in the municipalities of Kalawad and Halvad. A total expenditure of ₹1.97 crore will be allocated for the establishment of 4,237 house connections in the Kalavad Municipality while an amount of ₹14.87 lakh will be designated for connecting 281 houses in the Halvad Municipality.

    70 percent of the total expenditure is covered under Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana), 10 percent is contributed by the local bodies, and the remaining 20 percent is provided by the concerned society for works such as internal roads, water pipelines, streetlights, and sewers of the societies under Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana).

    A grant of ₹ 7,000 per household is being offered for connecting residences that are presently not linked to the central drainage system with the main drainage line.

    Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the state government has extended the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana until 2024 with an allocation of ₹ 8,086 crore.
