Leading IT firm IBM will establish a product engineering and development center at Ahmedabad

    A meeting between Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani and a delegation led by IBM India Managing Director Mr. Sandip Patel was held in Gandhinagar to discuss futuristic development projects to be undertaken in the state. IBM will develop a modern software lab in Ahmedabad which will be equipped with latest technologies for product engineering, design and development. This will help in creation of skill-based employment opportunities in Gujarat and youths of the state will be able to learn from the trained human resource around the globe.

    Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani explained how Gujarat, which is equipped with skilled manpower and talent pool will help IBM in their endeavour. Mr. Rupani said that the project will contribute towards the Digital India vision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and transform the IT sector ecosystem in the state. Mr. Rupani assured the delegation with the proper support from the state government.

    Skilled youth of the state will have multiple opportunities for growth and development in the technology sector and enhance the talent with latest innovations and training.  IMB MD, Mr. Sandip Patel praised the leadership of Mr. Rupani which has put Gujarat on a fast pace towards becoming an IT hub. Gujarat is known for ease of doing business and policies of the state will enable in reaching new milestones in the field. IBM also expressed interest in contributing with CSR activities in education sector.

    IBM software labs provide cloud services and next generation software portfolios. Such labs are in operation at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai and the next one is coming up at Ahmedabad.

    Secretary to CM Mr. Ashwini Kumar, Secretary, Science & Technology Department, Mr. Harit Shukla and MD, GIL, Mr. Sachin Gusia also joined the meeting.
