Today on the re-launching programme of ‘Ahmedabad Mirror’ English daily, Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani greeted good wishes to ‘Nav-Gujarat Samay’ and ‘Ahmedabad Mirror’ for best works as media and for making progress too.
The Chief Minister also stated that being the fourth pillar of the democracy, the media has a key-role to play in the democracy.
Mr. Rupani also pointed out that in today’s time when social media disseminating the news at wildfire speed, then it is print media’s responsibility to furnish factual and correct news next day morning.
Congratulating to the ‘Frontline Corona Warriors’, who were honoured by Shayona Group on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, presently the entire Gujarat is at easy because of the mammoth efforts made by these ‘Corona Warriors’. As result of this, the state had achieved 97 % ‘Corona Recovery Rate’. Similarly, the Union Government, under the leadership of Mr. Narendrabhai Modi, has also managed to contain the Corona very successfully.
During this pandemic time, the state government had successfully provided all basic essential to all needy people, including arranging home-back journey for those who had come to Gujarat for earning their livelihood, he added.
On the occasion, a feature film showing a private trust making ‘prosthesis legs’ for differently abled children was also watched by the Chief Minister. Later, Mr. Rupani assured that for helping these children, they would be covered by the state government under its School Health Programme.
On the occasion, IPS Mr. Ajay Chaudhary and Mr. Virendrasinh Yadav were also honoured as ‘Corona Warriors’ for their outstanding works as police officers.
Those who graced the event with their presence included, newly appointed Ahmedabad city Mayor Mr. Kiritbhai Parmar, Deputy Mayor Mrs. Geetaben Patel, MLAs – Mr. Bhupendrabhai Patel and Mr. Arvindbhai Patel, and others.
