Waaree Group signs MoU with Gujarat Govt to set up solar modules plant in Valsad, thanks Chief Minister for fast land allotment, plans to invest more in Gujarat

Gandhinagar, Saturday: A MoU was signed between Gujarat Government and prestigious Waaree Group here today in presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to set up a Rs.1,100-crore Solar PV Modules and Solar Cells modern manufacturing plant at Moda village in Valsad district in south Gujarat.
It was signed by Gujarat Government’s Principal Industries Secretary and Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary M.K. Das and Waaree Solar Energy Solutions Group Chairman Hitesh Doshi. The plant is to provide jobs to 2,000 local youths.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rupani said that huge investments are coming in the solar and other non-conventional sources of energy due to the government’s incentives and growing demand for solar modules and solar cells in the state.
As per the Solar Rooftop Policy, he said that 8-lakh houses and 33-lakh MSME units are scheduled to be encompassed for 100 per cent solar energy utilisation in the state.
The Waaree Group has presence in 60 countries, has 55 per cent market share in pressure gauge. It has India’s two largest Solar PV Modules manufacturing plants of 2-Gigawatt capacity in Surat and Umargam in Gujarat.
Waaree Group Chairman Hitesh Doshi thanked the Chief Minister for fast land allotment procedures. Impressed by the state government’s encouraging and transparent attitude, he said he planned to invest more in Gujarat.
Others present on the occasion included Industries Commissioner Rahul Gupta and Managing Director Neelam Rani.
