Electric Commercial Vehicle production plant to be set up at Kachchh in Gujarat
MoU signed between the Government of Gujarat and US based Triton Electric Vehicle LLC
Triton Electric Vehicle will start the plant with an investment of Rs 1,200 crore in the current financial year. The plant to be established at the total investment of Rs. 10800 Crore.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel was present during the signing of MoU at Gandhinagar. The MoU will pave the way for the creation of 10 thousand direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Industry, Government of Gujarat and Mr. Himanshu Patel, Founder & CEO, Triton Electric Vehicle signed the MoU. Triton Electric Vehicle will establish the plant at its existing facility which spans across 645 acres. This plant will produce 50 thousand trucks annually.
Facilities like chassis and cabin, robotic paint shop, chassis sub assembly and quality assurance and material testing lab also to be set up during operations. US based firm specializes in the production of lithium battery cells and electric vehicle controllers.
Triton is developing long range electric vehicles which are equipped with best in class safety features and functionalities. The company manufactures Electric semi trucks, SUVs, Electric Sedan, Defense Electric Vehicle and Electric Rickshaw in US.
As the firm is setting up plant in Bhuj at Kachchh, the State Government will provide with necessary support in approvals and registration processes required for this.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Commissioner of Industries Shri Rahul Gupta and representatives from Triton Electric Vehicle were present during the event.
