Chief Minister exempts cinema halls, multiplexes, gyms from property tax during FY 2020-21

Gandhinagar, Tuesday: State Core Committee with Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in chair here today took an important decision to exempt cinema halls, multiplexes and gyms from paying property tax during last financial year from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.

The Core Committee decided to also exempt these utilities from paying fixed charges in electric bills while they will have to pay for electricity actually consumed.

The decision has been taken to provide financial relief to these utilities during the critical time of coronavirus.

Others who attended the meeting included Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Energy Minister Saurabh Patel, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary K. Kailashnathan, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary M. K. Das and other senior officers.
