Gandhinagar, 10 January 2024: The inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony for the 1,31,454 houses, constructed across the state at a cost of ₹2,993 crore, was held in the virtual presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel joined the state-level program held in Deesa, Banaskantha. After a virtual interaction with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries, the prime minister declared during his speech, "Modi has opened the government's treasury for the needy. The main beneficiaries of every government Garib Kalyan Yojana are Dalit, OBC, and tribal families. These families have received the greatest benefits from Modi's Guarantee". The Prime Minister said that the needy, youth, farmers, and women, constitute the pillars of Viksit Bharat. We are committed to empowering them.
Congratulating the beneficiaries on their new homes, the Prime Minister said that the government is trying to ensure that everyone has their own "pucca" house. Today, over 1.25 lakh families in Gujarat have received their own homes, showing that "Modi's guarantee also guarantees that the commitment will be fulfilled". The PM further noted that in the past decade, 25 crore people across the country have risen above poverty and improved their economic circumstances.
The Prime Minister announced that this year, the central government has allocated funds for the construction of 2 crore new houses in the budget. Previously, the funds from the Garib Awas Yojana did not reach the intended recipients. However, now all funds are directly deposited into the beneficiary's account, and people joyfully move into their new homes. Discussing the initiative to transform Annadata into Urjadata (food donors into energy donors), the PM stated that Along with agricultural development, Gujarat has given a new impetus to industrial development. The Prime Minister emphasized that the ongoing development projects in Ambaji will lead to an increase in the number of pilgrims and tourists in the near future. Additionally, the construction of the Ambaji-Taranga railway line will significantly benefit the entire area.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that today, Lapsi, a traditional Gujarati sweet, will be enjoyed at the homes of lakhs of families in the state. The Chief Minister reminisced about the Ayodhya Mahotsav, highlighting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's role in consecrating the idol of Lord Shri Ram, thus creating a new chapter in history and bringing worldwide recognition to the country. The Chief Minister remarked that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has shown concern for the impoverished and marginalized people. By extending the benefits of government schemes to the remotest corners, the prime minister has epitomized the concept of Ramrajya in the modern era. Moreover, he has strived to fulfil Tulsidasji's adage of 'Nirbal Ke Bal Ram'.
The government is dedicated to establishing a true "Surajya" in the nation by ensuring housing, food, and healthcare for the country's impoverished and underprivileged citizens. The Union Budget includes provisions for the construction of 2 crore new housing units in rural areas, the CM added. Discussing housing construction in the state, the Chief Minister proudly announced that over 13.42 lakh housing units have already been built under the "Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana". Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel congratulated the beneficiaries of the Awas Yojana.
The Chief Minister asserted that in alignment with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision, the government is dedicated to the development of women, the needy, farmers, and youth. As we step into the "Amrit Kaal", Gujarat is resolute in achieving the Prime Minister's vision of a Viksit Bharat. Gujarat has also formulated its vision document. Thanks to the ethos of "Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas" ingrained in the state's work culture, the benefits of development have now reached even the remotest corners. The state government remains steadfast in realizing the vision of Ram Rajya, he concluded.
On this occasion, Shri Shankar Chaudhary, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, said that today is a moment of pride for the people of Banaskantha. Today, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel have virtually dedicated housing for the lakhs of needy people from the land of Banaskantha. Today, citizens benefitting from various public-oriented schemes initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has facilitated the evolution of many impoverished people from slums to proper housing, leading to significant improvements in their quality of life.
The Speaker added that today, the aspirations of the underprivileged are being fulfilled due to the unwavering determination of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, leading to significant social upliftment. The land of Banas has always been blessed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Along with the provision of Narmada water, the Prime Minister has bestowed many benefits upon Banaskantha. Presently, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel is diligently working towards the state's development. Recently, the CM sanctioned a water scheme for Karamawat Lake, representing a significant new gift for Banas.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a virtual interaction with beneficiaries from Nana Khijdia in Rajkot, Vapi in Morbi district, and Kumbhariya and Jalotra villages in Banaskantha district. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for making their dream of owning a home a reality. Beneficiaries also shared how their livelihoods had improved after acquiring their own homes. Women beneficiaries of "Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana" expressed their appreciation to the Prime Minister for the positive impact on their lives and families through various government assistance schemes.
At the beginning of the event, Disa MLA Shri Praveen Mali delivered a welcome address. During the event, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel flagged off the 'Selfie with Modiji' Chariot. The District Collector presented postcards to the Chief Minister, written by 2,95,000 beneficiaries of the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' from Banaskantha district, expressing their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
