Gandhinagar, Friday: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that, Health infrastructure and health indicators in Gujarat are constantly improving.
According to the NITI Aayog Third Sustainable Development Goal Index, Gujarat ranks first in the country in ‘Good Health and Well Being’.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated 500 bed Nirali Multi Speciality hospital as well as A.M. Naik Healthcare campus newly constructed by Nirali Memorial Medical Trust in Navsari.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated ‘Naik Education and Skilling Centre of Excellence’in Kharel of Gandevi taluka in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Prime Minister also visited the Nirali Memorial Medical Trust’s (NMMT) A.M. Naik Healthcare campus spread over eight-acres of land as well as visited the Cancer Hospital and inspected the ultra-modern health facilities and resources available over there.
Larsen & Toubro Group Chairman and Nirali Memorial Medical Trust Founder Padma Vibhushan Shri A.M. Naik briefed the Prime Minister regarding the role and functioning of the Healthcare Campus. The Prime Minister further appreciated the services rendered by the social elites for the people of the hinterland. The Central Government has implemented a number of health schemes with an aim to provide holistic approach to human beings in general and especially mothers and children to get proper nutrition and maintain healthy lifestyle as well as being benefical towards strong health infrastructure.
Stating Ayushman Bharat Yojana as an excellent example Prime Minster said that, 40 lakh impoverished people of Gujarat have benefited under this scheme and has saved their Rs.7000 crore.
Stating that MA Amrutam Vatsalya Yojana has given health dignity to many families in Gujarat, thus it became a source of inspiration for making ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ comprehensive nationwide. Prime Minister further added that, Gujarat has achieved new heights in the field of health sector in the last 20 years, Gujarat today provides ultra-modern facilities to the citizens at the local level in primary health centres and community health centres at doorsteps. In cities too, more than 600 Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Aushadalaya are benefiting the citizens, he said.
Stating that government hospitals have become leaders in providing modern healthcare facilities, he added that healthcare facilities are being provided in Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Surat, Vadodara with modern treatment of cancer, which saves deprived and middle class families from unbearable financial burden. He lauded the strong health infrastructure of Gujarat. In this regard, he said that the study and training facilities of medical and paramedics have greatly increased in the last twenty years. As a result, there are more than 30 medical colleges functioning in Gujarat today. The Prime Minister emphasized that institutional delivery has been made more comprehensive in Gujarat by ensuring public participation under the Chiranjeevi Yojana.
Expressing the view that Nirali Multi Specialty Hospital of 500 beds of Naik Charitable Trust established by Danveer Bhamashashri AM Naik will prove to be a blessing for the citizens of South Gujarat. He added that while the ‘Golden Hours’ are very important in providing timely treatment in road accidents and saving human lives, this hospital on the highway would be instrumental in saving the lives of the injured by providing timely treatment in case of accidents.
He said, “Late Nirali, who just passed away from cancer at the young age of just two years, has shed light on the lives of millions of needy patients and students even after her death. The Naik family has lit the flame of public service and has given offspring debt, parent debt and social debt ‘,
Appreciating the noble spirit of the Naik family who used their wealth with the mantra of ‘Bahujan Hitaya, Bahujan Sukhaya’ focusing on education and health, the Prime Minister paid homage to the late Nirali, who showed the way to revive millions of families by living a very short life.
The Prime Minister said that this multi-specialty hospital would achieve a new milestone in the field of healthcare, and would prove to be a lifeline in the field of healthcare for the surrounding areas, including Navsari.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel applauded the service spirit of Shri Anilbhai Naik and said that Shri Naik has embodied the noble spirit of Indian culture of ‘Janseva e j prabhuseva’. He thanked Mr. Naik for initiating Sevayajna as the service to the homeland.
He said that those who have lost near ones can understand the pain of others. The heroic family has taken up a noble mission by turning the grief of losing their only two-year-old granddaughter due to cancer into compassion and providing services to the needy, deprived and victims. The Chief Minister applauded the efforts made to extend the state of the art health facilities to the poor in just one year.
The Chief Minister further said that under the successful leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister, the health services of Gujarat are reaching new horizons. Earlier, as there were not enough ambulances in the state, women had to give birth at home. Lack of electricity has hampered vital functions, including health care, but today such difficult days are a thing of the past.
Explaining that Gujarat has become synonymous with development, CM added that Gujarat is a leader in the field of public health facilities and the state government is working with the commitment to provide health related facilities to the last men of society.
He said that the super specialty services of Nirali Multi Specialty and Cancer Hospital will be accessible to the districts of South Gujarat including Navsari, Tapi, Valsad, Dang, Vyara and also two districts of Maharashtra – Dhule and Nandurbar. Stating that this service of health facilities provided at negligible cost will serve the poor in the true sense, he expressed the view that this hospital, which provides boon of health, will realize the spirit of ‘Niralathi Niramaya’.
On the occasion, Mr. A. M. Naik, President of Nirali Memorial Trust, Naik Charitable Trust, Group Chairman of Larsen & Toubro, said that it is a moral obligation to use the wealth received from the society for the betterment of the society, to repay the debt of the motherland.
Stating that Nirali Memorial Medical Trust is our endeavor to provide the best and affordable medical care and treatment facilities to the rural and underprivileged, the Multispeciality Hospital is an important step towards providing affordable healthcare to all.
Mr. Naik also pledged to provide appropriate skill development training to enhance healthcare, educational services and employment opportunities in the hinterland on a reasonable basis through the trust’s service mission with his personal capital.
The Prime Minister also watered a tree on campus this time.
On this occasion, Health Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel, Tribal Minister Shri Nareshbhai Patel, Roads and Housing Minister Shri Purneshbhai Modi, Deputy Chief Dandakshri RC Patel, MLA Shri Piyush Desai, Navsari MP CR Patil, Trustee of Nirali Memorial Trust Shri Jignesh Naik, dignitaries and hospital staff including the hero and his family were present.
