President launches startup platform “herSTART” for women entrepreneurs

    10 women entrepreneurs of the state were honored by President and Governor


    Gandhinagar, Tuesday:  President Smt. Droupadi Murmu virtually laid the foundation stone and dedicated 11 educational development projects of worth Rs. 164 Crores. The inclusive development model of Gujarat is becoming a guide for other states of the country today. She requested various states of the country to adopt each other’s development model and work in the direction of building a developed nation.

    Smt. Murmu launched the herSTART platform for women entrepreneurs and said that, Many people are getting employment through 450 startup projects operational in Gujarat University. In which 125 startups specially inspired by entrepreneurial women are giving a new direction to the entrepreneurship and innovative ideas in women.

    India has moved from 81st position to 40th position in the Global Innovation Index (GII) of 2022 as a result of the startup program started across the country with the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi.

    She said that the school dropout rate among the students of the tribal community has come down since Vanabandhu Kalyan Yojana as well as Eklavya Model Residential School, kanya nivasi shala’s have become functional in the state.

    The National Education Policy-2020 is an initiative towards making India a super power. She lauded on the various efforts made by Gujarat in the field of primary and higher education in the last two decades and the results obtained. She lauded on the reduction in the dropout rate in the state, as well as the real-time monitoring of the education system of more than 55 thousand schools in the state by the Vidya Review Centre. She also appreciated the project of upgrading the infrastructure of about 20 thousand schools of the state through Mission School of Excellence.

    She said with pride that the Gujarat is the first state in the country to form the Garima Cell with the aim of giving new energy and direction to the higher education system of the state.

    Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devvrat said that, today it is a matter of joy for all of us that the inauguration and launch of various educational projects has been completed by the President of India. India is moving towards becoming self-reliant through the launch and stone laying of many such projects.

    Governor further added that it was a time when talking about startups and bullet train in India was considered a joke. Today, under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, all this has been realized, it is a matter of pride for all of us. Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi realized all these projects by recognizing the potential of every child, youth and citizen of the country.

    The state education department has established a university in every district. The state government has implemented several projects in the field of education and has also made special arrangements for the education of tribal children through which today Gujarat has been a pioneer in the field of education.

    India today is moving forward with self-reliance and confidence under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Governor appealed to the people of the country to get out of the mindset of slavery and reveal their untapped talent. The Governor appealed to the youth to work towards building a new India by restoring the country’s self-reliance and dignity.

    Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that, the double engine government under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is carrying out development works with double spirit and double speed. As a result of the Startup Scheme and Mudra Scheme, the innovative ideas of the youth of the state have received new directions. Loan assistance of 66 thousand has been given to 1.10 lakh people under Mudra Yojana.

    Efforts have been made by the state government to encourage new age startups by allocating 500 crores under SSIP 2.O to boost the innovative ideas of the youth.

    The Chief Minister added that more than 14 thousand startups are successfully operating in the state, as a result of which Gujarat has been awarded as the best performing state in the startup sector in the last three years. The Chief Minister added that the government is committed to develop the best in various development sectors like education, health and tribal development.

    Education Minister Shri. Jitubhai Vaghani said that today 11 works of worth Rs. 164 crore has been dedicated or stone laid by President across Gujarat.

    Talking about Gujarat University, he said that many personalities who led India year in this university have contributed in bringing India forward by getting education from here. For the last 4 years Gujarat University is coming within the first 40 ranks in various fields which is a matter of pride for Gujarat.

    Talking about the development of the education sector in Gujarat, Shri. Jitubhai said that Gujarat has been the first state to implement the new education policy-2020. Not only this, Gujarat is the first state to establish Garima Cell.

    Talking about the startup sector, the Education Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the leadership of Shri Bhupendra Patel, the state government has also announced the Student Startup Policy. It is a matter of pride for all of us that Gujarat is coming first in startups for the last 3 years.

    Cabinet Minister Shri Nareshbhai Patel, Minister of State Dr. Kuberbhai Dindor,Smt. Nimishaben Suthar, Mayor of Ahmedabad Shri. Kiritbhai Parmar, Chief Secretary Shri. Pankajkumar, Principal Secretary Education Department Mr. S.J. Haider, Commissioner of Higher Education Department Shri. M. Nagarajan, Tribal Development Commissioner Shri. Dilip Rana, as well as Chancellors, professors, entrepreneurs and students were present in large numbers.
