Gandhinagar: The President of the Asian Development Bank Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa and his delegation met the Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to discuss on strengthening the relations with Gujarat.
The CM welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude to the ADB’s support in Gujarat’s development so far.
The CM said that the ADB is supporting the State Government in skill development and urban infrastructure. Similarly, he expressed the bank’s support in renewable energy, urban infrastructure, rural road connectivity, housing and related projects.
The CM talked about Gujarat’s Model of Development which has made the state The Growth Engine of India. He also talked about the important contribution of the Manufacturing, service and agriculture sectors in the state’s development.
He invited the ABD to participate in the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Summit and take the lead to promote fintech not only in the state but in India.
The ADB President said that the bank has been a partner for various projects in Gujarat’s development since 1996.
The President said that the bank is about a positive partnership with Gujarat in cyber security and a data centre at GIFT City.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi guided ADB in 2019 to make GIFT City a global financial hub.
The ADB President assured the CM of the bank’s support in making Gujarat the hub for Green Hydrogen, skill development, water supply and distribution, skill university and starting state-of-the-art courses.
The CM said that the state government will be proactive and provide full support to the ADB to make the state a hub for Green Hydrogen.
The CM invited the President of ADB for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2024 and the Statue of Unity.
Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, Chairman of GIFT City Dr.Hasmukh Adhia, Managing Director Shri Tapan Ray, ACS of Finance Department Shri J. P Gupta, G20 Coordinator and Principal Secretary Smt.Mona Khandhar and other senior officials were a part of this meeting.
