Gandhinagar, Monday: President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who visited Gujarat for the first time after becoming the President of India , started her address in Gujarati and said that, For the first time after becoming the President of India , I am feeling very delighted to be here in Gujarat among all of you. I pray that may you all keep advancing in your skills.
During her visit to Gujarat, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu refreshed her memories of her visit to Gandhi Ashram and said, The lifestyle and the values of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi are still relevant to humanity today. She said that, the implementation of various projects related to the development of Gujarat like health and medical education, water supply, roads, irrigation and port development will provide multiple opportunities including employment to farmers and small businesses.
Smt. Murmu said that, A super specialty hospital which is under construction in Gandhinagar and at Rajpipla in Narmada district, which has 85 percent tribal population, this 540 beds hospital to be constructedat a cost of Rs. 530 crores and with the opening of medical college and hospital, local citizens will get maximum benefit of health facilities and students will get maximum benefit of medical education. She said that Gujarat has achieved great achievements in the field of health. Gujarat is the first state to issue a health card for special care of pregnant women. More than 12 crore doses of COVID vaccine have been given in Gujarat. In addition to it the world’s first WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine is taking shape in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which will guide the world about traditional medicinal treatment and medicines.
The President said, Under NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Global Goals for 2020-21, Gujarat has achieved the first rank in the entire country under ‘Goal No. 3-Health and Well-Being’. Along with industrial development, Gujarat has also given special importance to organic farming. Gujarat’s successful natural farming experiments are being implemented across nation. The whole country has joined hands with Gujarat in the development of natural farming. The farmers of Gujarat who constitute five percent of the country’s population, are contributing about 20 percent to the country’s total national agricultural production today.
Stating that securing water is necessary for social and economic development, she said, Earlier there was scarcity for water in North Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, but due to proper water management today water for drinking and irrigation has reached every nook and corner of the state through a vast network of 63 thousand kilometers of Sardar Sarovar canals. As a result, the lives of millions of Gujaratis, including farmers, have transformed. As per NITI Aayog’s ‘Composite Water Management Index’, Gujarat ranks first in water management for the last three years.
The President said, The progressive entrepreneurs of Gujarat have been given special recognition to Gujarat and the country in the world. The people of Gujarat have a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Deendayal Port Authority, managed by the central government, has laid the foundation stone for various development projects at the Kandla Mahabandar.
These innovative projects will increase the capacity of the Kandla and boosted the development of the area. Gujarat’s Ports account for 40 percent of the country’s total Port cargo transportation. The President congratulated everyone for the innovative developmental projects.
Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat:-
Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat said that today is a very proud moment for Gujarat. While the state government is constantly striving to ensure that citizens get the benefits of public welfare more and more quickly, the inauguration of various projects in the fields of health, water, Ports and water management by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will open new doors of development for Gujarat.
He added that Gujarat has given many writers, historians, freedom fighters and today India’s name has reached the global level under the leadership of the son of Gujarat Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which is a matter of pride for all of us. He has started the development journey of Gujarat during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat which has progressed in an exceptional manner and Gujarat is proving to be a role model for the country. Today people from different states including home and abroad are visiting Gujarat to see and understand the concept of development.
He said, In the past 20 years, Gujarat’s continuous development journey has provided a vast network of roads, uninterrupted power supply, well-organized tap water system. The state government has carried out tireless efforts to make sure that the waters of Narmada river reach to the last person standing in the cue. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi , Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the state government has implemented many schemes for the citizens of Gujarat.
Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat further said that the best health facilitiy is the primary need of human life, Gujarat has indeed successful in catering best services in the health sector. With the construction of a new medical college-hospital at Rajpipla will give eminence to the citizens of tribal areas so that they can have access to health facilities. Besides, the citizens will also get better health facilities through the super specialty hospital, Rain Basera Center(Shelter Home) and Cardiac Center to be built in the Gandhinagar Civil Hospital Campus.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel:-
On this occasion Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that, Smt. Droupadi Murmuji,in her first visit to Gujarat after assuming the office of President, has inaugurated and laid foundation stone for development works worth Rs 1330 crore, which is a matter of pride for Gujarat.
Chief Minister said, On the basis of the strong foundation laid for the development of Gujarat by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today Gujarat has been leading in every field. The government has taken all steps to strengthen the health infrastructure in Gujarat and ensure health security for all. He added.
In this regard, he said, Gujarat ranks first in health related indicators in NITI Aayog’s Development Goal Three. Gujarat has been awarded the ‘Ayushman Excellence Award 2022’ by the Government of India for producing maximum Ayushman cards under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Gujarat ranks first in the country in providing health facilities certified by National Quality Assurance Standard.
In this regard he said that the multi-speciality hospital to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 372 crore In Gandhinagar will be equipped with 500-bed facilities and will also have the facilities of Rain Basera. The hospital will have ICU, imaging and diagnostic services, urology and cardiac services. The Chief Minister further said that it is the government’s resolve to start five new medical colleges to provide medical education to the youth of the tribal districts of the state. One such new medical college and hospital will be constructed in Rajpipla at a cost of Rs. 530 crore. This 6-storey hospital with a capacity of 540 beds will prove to be a one-stop solution of holistic health care for the citizens of Narmada district, which has a large tribal population.
Chief Minister said, In the aspirational district Dahod, 4 schemes of group water supply to be built at a cost of Rs. 36 crore will supply 360 litres crores of tap water to a population of four lakhs of 60 villages. Regarding water management, he further said, The government provides tap water to 98% of households in rural areas of Gujarat. 20 out of 33 districts of the state are getting 100% Nal Se Jal, the remaining areas are also planned to be covered very quickly by the government. He added, The government supplies water to remote villages and farms in the hilly areas of the tribal district of South Gujarat by lifting it up to a height of 30-40 floors.
Chief Minister said, For the past decade, Gujarat has benefited from a double engine government for all round development including water, health, education, security along with industrial development and employment sector. During this Amrit Kaal of independence, the vision of a self-reliant, strong and prosperous India is to be realized by providing facilities like water, electricity, health and housing to the poor, deprived and marginalized people of the country. He added.
Minister of state for Health Shri Rushikesh Patel in his welcome address said that the ground-breaking of these innovative projects in the health sector by the President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will increase various facilities to the citizens and his wishes-blessings will inspire us to work further. The arrival of the President will bring excitement, enthusiasm and other communication to our team. With her guidance, we will be motivated to work more for the better health of the citizens.
He added, It is a matter of pride for us that under the guidance of Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat, he is continuously inspiring the state government through projects like natural farming to save the earth along with save soil and also for the health of the citizens. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel, the state government is providing more and more health services to the citizens. The minister further added that, Today, we are continuously moving forward on the path of development that was laid down by the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the development of Gujarat.
President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu laid foundation stone for the new super specialty hospital, Critical Care Centre to be constructed at GMERS College and campus in Gandhinagar. Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Shripad Naik, Health Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel, Tribal Development Minister Shri Naresh Patel and Minister of State for Health Smt. Nimisha Suthar were present on this occasion.
President Smt. Droupadi Murmu inspected the model of these projects to be renovated at Gandhinagar Civil Hospital Campus while Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department Shri Manoj Agarwal provided the complete details.
President Smt. Droupadi Murmu virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stone for development works worth Rs. 1330 crore. Which includes a super specialty hospital, critical care center and Ranbasera at GMERS at a cost of Rs.373.00 crore at General Hospital Campus Gandhinagar. Medical College, and General Hospital upgradation at Rajpipla, Narmada District at a cost of Rs.530.00 crores. Lift Irrigation Plant at Lunawada, Mahisagar District at a cost of Rs.49.00 crore, Lift Irrigation Plant at Lunawada, at a cost of Rs. 18.00 crore, Regional Water Supply Scheme at Limkheda in Dhanpur taluka at the cost of Rs. 18.00 Crore ,Regional Water Supply Scheme Part-1 & 2,at Sanjeli, Jhalod Taluka, Dahod at the cost of Rs. 9.00 crore Regional Water Supply Scheme at Mahabandar Kandla, Plots in 66 hectares area within cargo jetty area and upgradation of storm water drains at the cost of Rs. 80.00 crore, plot in 40 hectare area within cargo jetty area at the cost of Rs. 47.00 crore, upgradation of road and storm water drain at Rs. 87.32 crore including upgradation of Tuna Road from two lane to four lane and other works.
Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar along with office bearers and high officials along with doctors and students were present on this occasion.
