Gandhinagar, Saturday: President of the World Bank Shri Ajay Banga and his delegation, who participated in the G20 meetings in Gujarat, held a meeting with Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
Shri Banga expressed his happiness as the World Bank’s relationship with Gujarat continues to strengthen. To add, he also congratulated the CM as Gujarat has been established as a role model of development.
The President of the World Bank said, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat is playing an active role in several large scale projects, manufacturing, infrastructure and renewable energy. The World Bank is ready to provide the necessary assistance. The World Bank is not only a financial institution but also a knowledge bank.”
In this regard he said that the World Bank and the representatives of Gujarat should decide the priority areas for making a knowledge partnership with Gujarat. He expressed confidence that this partnership will be useful, especially for energy, manufacturing, skilling and capacity building.
The Chief Minister highlighted the expertise Gujarat has acquired in Green Growth Climate Resilient and Urban Infrastructure. Gujarat has focused on all these sectors for employment generation and socio-economic development.
The CM also invited the President of the World Bank to attend the upcoming Vibrant-2024.
Chief Secretary Shri. Raj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department Shri J. P. Gupta, Principal Secretary Smt. Mona Khandhar, senior secretaries of the State Government and delegates of the World Bank were a part of this meeting.
