PM Modi inaugurates first roll on, roll off Ghogha-Dahej ferry service

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi said that Ghogha-Dahej Roll-On Roll-Of (Ro-Ro) Ferry Service across the Gulf of Cambay to connect Saurashtra and south Gujarat regions by sea route will be a new chapter of coastal cruise in India. It will be the pillar of economic development of the country. Addressing huge crowd Mr. Modi said that 21th century will develop the New India Sagar Mala project along with blue economy.

Speaking about Dahej Mr. Modi said that youths from every corner of India have come here for employment. Mr. Modi said that the gates for development have been opened for the next generation. Recognizing the power of the country’s popularity the dreams of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar have came true. Ro Ro Fairy Service will bring South Gujarat and Saurashtra very close.  The first phase of the service is meant for passengers. In the second phase will be meant for transportation facility. It could be extended between Hazira, Pipavav, Jafrabad, Khadi of Kutch, Diu Daman and Mumbai for which the Central Government will provide full support.

A new round of social, economic development has started for the young people of the country. Youth will get new opportunities for employment with a new dimension of employment. In the coming future we will also get the benefit of the Delhi- Mumbai corridor, said Mr. Modi.

Mr. Modi appreciated the initiative of Gujarat Government and Gujarat Maritime Board for Ro Ro Ferry Service. He said that this service is like a model for the nation. There is about 5% to 6% water transformation in the country whereas in other countries it’s more than 30%. Roads and railways cost more in the economy than in other countries. Water transfers of 7,500 km of coastal and 1450 km of internal rivers are available. The previous government neglected these, due to which the nation has bared huge economic loss. Ports will open the gates of economic development.

Sagar Mala project is a vision 2035 for development. Investments are being done in 400 projects. More than Rs. 8 lakh crore investments are estimated. Sagar Mala project will be the base for New India with skill development. One crore youth will get new opportunities of employment. Country’s port will be integrated with modern facilities.

Regarding demonetization Mr. Modi said that Government is trying it best to establish an honest economy. Demonetization was a campaign to clean the country, which got success. Actions are been taken against whom the evidence have been received.

Regarding GST Mr. Modi said that some contractors are upset with Modi. Traders have given an honest atmosphere. 27 lakh new citizens have joined. Country’s economy is moving towards a strong direction. Speaking about the people of Surat Mr. Modi said that they can now celebrate their birthday between the seas. Due to cruise and beach tourism, poor people will get employment.

In Gujarat state, there are two gulfs on the vast coastline of Kutch and Khambhat. On the occasion BJP State President Jitubhai Vaghani, Minister of State for co-operation Mr. Ishwarsinh Patel, MP Mr. Mansukhbhai Vasava, MLA’s, Party leaders and officials, Collector, District Police heads, Industrialists of dahaj industrial unit area and people at huge were remained present.
