Prime Minister of the UK Mr. Boris Johnson visits well renowned historical Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar, Thursday: The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Shri  Boris Johnson is visiting India from April 21st and  he started  his visit to India from Gujarat.  The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom  visited the well renowned  historical Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel also joined him during his entire visit to Gandhi Ashram. Shri Boris Johnson came to Hriday Kunj and was influenced by Gandhian ideas. He offered floral tribute to the idol of Gandhiji. He visited various khands of  Hridayakunj, and also visited the Ahmedabad Gallery at Gandhi Ashram. Shri Boris Johnson also visited the Mira Kutir at  Gandhi Ashram. British Lady Madeleine Slade who was a British citizen. Impressed by Gandhiji’s ideology , she came to Gandhi Ashram and the Kutir in which she lived is named Mira Kutir.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Shri Boris Johnson by expressing his feelings he wrote  in the visitor’s book that, ‘My visit to Gandhi Ashram is indescribable and my experience of coming to Gandhi Ashram has been very good. Gandhiji provided an example of how one can change the world through truth and non- violence’.  On this occasion, two books ‘Guide to London’ and ‘Autobiography of Miraben’ were presented to Shri Boris Johnson as a gift from Gandhi Ashram.

On this occasion Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan,  Ahmedabad District Collector Shri Sandeep Sangale, Sabarmati Ashram Trustee Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Trustee Shri Amrut Modi, Sabarmati Ashram Director Shri Atul Pandya, Chief Protocol Officer Shri Jwalant Trivedi were present.
