First Vande Bharat train equipped with KAVACH’ technology

This Vande Bharat train which started in Gujarat is being launched for the first time with ‘KAVACH’ (Train Collision Avoidance System) technique. With the help of this technique, accidents like head-on collision between two trains can now be prevented. This technique has been developed in the country itself, due to which its cost is very low.

In the budget of 2022, the Central Government had announced the plan to bring up to 2000 km of rail network under ‘Kavach’ and in March 2022, Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw successfully tested it.

What makes Vande Bharat Train so ‘Special’

Popularly known as Swadeshi Semi-High Speed, this train reaches the speed of 0 to 100 km per hour in just 52 seconds. The train is equipped with sliding footsteps, touch free sliding doors along with automatic plug doors for the convenience of passengers.

Modern techniques like GSM / GPRS are used for monitoring of AC, coach control management system, and communication and feedback with control center and maintenance staff.

Special toilets for disabled passengers and bio vacuum toilets with touch-free amenities for general passengers have been arranged. Similarly, for the convenience of disabled passengers, the seat number is also engraved in Braille script in the seats, so that such passengers can easily reach their seats.

This train has Level-II Safety Integration Certification for better train control management, 4 platform side cameras including rear view camera outside the coach, aspiration based fire detection and suppression system in all coaches and aerosol in electrical cubicles and toilets. Better fire safety measures like based fire detection and suppression system have been implemented.

Vande Bharat train is ready at half the cost of imported train

Vande Bharat Express has ushered in a new era of travel in India. Made at the cost of just Rs. 100 crores, this train is built at almost half the cost of an imported train with similar features. Keeping in mind the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ vision, the main systems of the train have been designed and manufactured in India.
