In a first initiative of its kind in the country, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has arranged classroom-type lectures by experts through Regional Television Channels from March 19 to 28, 2020 daily to ensure the students sitting at home could revise their syllabus.
This alternative arrangement has been made to ensure the students don’t miss lectures since the schools have been asked to remain closed as a precautionary step to check the spread of the corona virus. At present, these revision lectures in major subjects would be telecast for Standards 7, 8, 9 and 11 in different hourly time slots.
For Standard-7, lectures will be telecast on Science, English and Maths on News-18 Channel from 12.00 noon to 1.00 pm, on Mantavya Channel from 3.00 to 4.00 pm, and on GTPL Channel from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm.
For Standards-8, lectures will be telecast on Science, English and Maths on VTV from 2.00 to 3.00 pm, Zee-24 from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon, and on VR Live from 5.00 to 6.00 pm respectively.
For Standard-9, lectures will be telecast on Science, English and Maths on ABP Asmita from 2.00 to 3.00 pm, on GSTV from 4.00 to 5.00 pm, and on Nirman News from 5.00 to 6.00 pm respectively.
For Standard-11, lectures will be telecast on Chemistry, Physics and Biology on Shikshan TV-9 from 12.30 to 1.00 pm and 3.30 to 4.00 pm, on Sandesh News Channel from 3.00 to 4.00 pm, on India News Gujarat from 4.00 to 5.00 pm and on Doordarshan Kendra Ahmedabad from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm respectively.
The Regional Channels telecasting lectures for Standard-11 will also telecast lectures on Maths on March 27 and lectures on Accountancy on March 28.
