    Reliance Industries to invest Rs 5.95 lakh crore in Gujarat for green energy and other projects


    Gandhinagar, Thursday:  Reliance Industries Ltd. signed an MoU with the Government of Gujarat in Gandhinagar for investments of Rs. 5.95 lakh crore to make Gujarat net-zero and carbon-free.

    Additional Chief Secretary to Industries Department of Gujarat Government Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta and Director Corporate Affairs of Reliance Industries Mr. Parimal Nathwani signed MoU in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel.

    Reliance has signed this MoU as an investment incentive part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit-2022.

    Accordingly, Reliance Industries has proposed investments of Rs. 5 lakh crore to develop a 100 GW Renewable Energy Power Plant and Green Hydrogen Eco-System in the state by the coming decade.

    Reliance Industries is committed to developing a Green Eco-System, the vision of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

    Reliance Industries will develop an ecosystem to support small and medium enterprises and encourage entrepreneurs to embrace new technologies and innovations leading to captive use of Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen.

    As a result of this proposed project, approximately 10 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities will be generated in the state.

    In addition to the MoU, Reliance Industries will invest Rs. 60,000 crore in New Energy Manufacturing-Integrated Renewable Manufacturing.

    New Energy Manufacturing is expected to have a solar PV Module, Electrolyzer, Energy Storage Battery, Fuel Sales.

    Reliance Industries has also proposed to invest Rs. 7500 crores in the coming years for Jio Network upgradation to 5G, Rs. 3000 crores over 5 years in Reliance Retail and Rs. 25 crores for existing projects and new ventures.

    Mr. Patel shared his expectation that these proposed projects would make Gujarat a leader in green-clean and environment-friendly energy production.
