Gandhinagar, Tuesday: High Commissioner of Singapore Mr. Simon Wong and Consulate General of Singapore in Mumbai Mr. Cheong Ming Foong along with a delegation from Singapore paid courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel here in Gandhinagar.
Shri Patel said that, due to lack of land in Singapore, MSME units have shifted to other countries for their new facilities. If such MSMEs start production facilities in Gujarat, they will get a lot of support in supplying their products to global markets like Middle East and Africa at the same time, will also get benefit in India’s vast domestic market. Gujarat has favourable collaboration opportunities for Singapore’s MSME units and other business development, added CM.
They also discussed on the possibility of Singapore-based Fintech companies coming to Gift City to participate in the financial and technology sectors.
Detailing on this Singapore High Commissioner said that, the International Stock Exchange of Singapore will also be operational in Gift City in July 22.
Shri Patel said that, with the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the vision of a self-reliant India has now become a comprehensive vision up to global self-reliant. He extended an invitation to the High Commissioner of Singapore to visit the Statue of Unity to realize the vision of our Prime Minister.
The duo also discussed the possibility of Singapore-based companies investing in urban infrastructure, real estate, township development, logistics and warehousing facilities development in Gujarat.
Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary to CM Shri Pankaj Joshi and Industry Commissioner Shri Rahul Gupta joined on the occasion.
