Gandhinagar, Saturday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that state government will accomplish the Garib Kalyan approach initiated by Prime Minister through providing financial assistance to the street vendors who are doing small business under PM SVANidhi Yojana.
A total of 6 lakh 10 thousand loan-financing cheques were distributed to 26 street vendors by Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel at SVANidhi Mahotsav held at Mahatma Mandir in the presence of Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad and Navsari MP Shri C.R. Patil.
He also felicitated the officers of various banks who have actively contributed for this scheme. Union Minister of State Shri Mahendra Munjpara, State Cabinet Ministers, MPs and MLAs and office bearers, Municipal Presidents, Vice Presidents, Mayors of metropolitan cities were present for this occasion.
Chief Minister on this SVANidhi Mahotsav said that under PM SVANidhi Yojana financial assistance of Rs 263 crore haven been provided to 2 lakh 35 thousand street vendors who are doing small business.
This scheme was started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with an aim to provide economic support to the small businessmen, poor people, and farmers to make their financial condition stable as their economic state was shaken up during the pandemic.
Prime Minister inspired and rejuvenated the spirit of being family and to realize the resolution of self-reliant Gujarat to self-reliant India.
Chief Minister said Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the country is celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, During this year of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav PM SVANidhi Yojana will give the beneficiaries a golden opportunity to continue their business. He also appealed all the beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi present to join the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program to be held across the country from 13th to 15th August.
Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad said that, Ascheme for Antyodaya to Sarvodaya is PM-SVANidhi Yojana. Gujarat is a holy land where great men like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel were born. This is the same land from where the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisioned the creation of a new India.The new India realized by the Prime Minister meant nation which is free from casteism, communalism, corruption, poverty and pollution and a healthy and well- educated country.
Dr. Bhagwat Karad further added that New India is being built with ideas like opening an account for citizens who do not have a bank account, Securing for Unsecure i.e. providing security to every citizen in every field, Funding for Unfunded i.e. providing financial assistance to citizens who need money. For this, the government has implemented many welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, PM Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.
Minister Shri Karad said that,The livelihood of street vendors was adversely affected because of COVID-19 Hence, The scheme was formulated keeping in mind the requirement of working capital loans for these street vendors to resume their bread- and- butter.
Minister Shir Karad further informed that The Prime Minister implemented this ambitious economic upliftment plan to make the marginalized people self-reliant and free them from the clutches of moneylenders.Under which more than 1 crore registrations have been done in India at present,Which in real sense realizes Sarvodaya with Antyodaya of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
MP Shri C.R. Patil called upon all the officials of the Municipalities, Municipal Corporations to spread the benefits of this scheme to the poor and daily wage earners of the country and to make them aware.He added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has kept the economic upliftment of the small man at the centre of every scheme.
MP Shri C.R. Patil while addressing the people present for the occasion said that PM SVANidhi Yojana is a major program of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi initiated to ease the financial burden of the common street vendors and to provide them relief from the burden of interest. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, various schemes are functioning for all sections including youth, women, farmers, tribals, poor, fishermen across the country. Today citizens of Gujarat are also benefiting from approximately 400 schemes of the central and state government.
MP Shri C.R. Patil further said that, after having repaid the amount of first loan of Rs. 10,000 the street vendor is eligible to get the second loan of Rs. 20,000 thus in order to grow his business street vendor can get loan upto Rs. 50,000. While Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has made a great effort to provide quality equipment to the Divynag of the country to live comfortably, he called upon the Divyang who are capeable enough to work should get employment through various government schemes.
Urban Development and Urban Housing Minister Shri Vinod Moradiya in his welcome keynote said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi implemented the ‘PM SVANidhi Yojana’with an aim to provide help to the people who were having torrid time during the pandemic.This scheme is a very useful initiative in making the street vendors self-reliant. So far, the state government has paid 2.35 lakh applicants out of 2.63 lakh applications received and stands fourth in terms of ranking in India. The Chief Minister of the state has considered this scheme as a public movement and has given the benefits of banking to the citizens of the far-flung areas. So far, out of more than 2.64 lakh beneficiaries sanctioned in the state, 67 thousand beneficiaries have repaid the loan. He requested to spread this scheme to maximum number of people so that all the needy citizens can benefit.
Citizens including representatives of various banks of the state and street vendors beneficiaries were present in this PM SVANidhi Mahotsav.
