Statewide Karuna Abhiyan launched in Gujarat aiming at saving birds injured by kite string

‘Karuna Abhiyan’ will be initiated from 10th to 20th January 2022 to save the injured birds during Uttarayan festival throughout the state.

Under the inspiration and guidance of CM the slogan of ‘live and let live’ will be accomplished 

More than 700 birds diagnosis centres, over 620 doctors along with them more than 6000 self-volunteers will also be part of this ‘Karuna Abhiyan’

Gandhinagar, Monday:  On the account of Uttarayan festival, under the direction and inspiration of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, a state-wide vigilance campaign will be organized to save the life of birds from the kite thread from 10th January to 20th 2022.

During the campaign, all the districts of the forest department control rooms will be operational between 7 am till 6 pm.

In support of ‘live and let live’ under the guidance of the state CM, the forest department will provide quick and hassle-free treatment to injured birds through WhatsApp and Website services during Uttarayan.

Over 700 bird treatment centres, more than 620 doctors and around 6000 service centre volunteers will be available to serve the cause of Uttrayan.

This compassionate campaign has become a leading initiative of Gujarat for the treatment of birds by taking care of them during Uttarayan and folk festivals. In the last 5 years, more than 50,000 birds have been treated and nursed under the campaign ‘Karuna Abhiyan’.

CM appeals to celebrate Uttarayan with precautionary measures in order to save birds from getting injured during this occasion.
