Chief Minister Vijay Rupani here today hailed four cities of Gujarat bringing laurel to the state by making grade in the country’s top ten cleanest municipal corporations as per the Swacch Survekshan 2020 report released by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.
He hailed the feat of Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Vadodara standing second, fifth, sixth and tenth cleanest municipal corporations respectively even in the difficult times like lockdown due to global pandemic novel coronavirus COVID-19.
Mr. Rupani congratulated the people, mayors, office-bearers, officers and commissioners of the four cities for the achievement. He particularly hailed the people rising up to the appeal of two illustrious sons of Gujarat, namely Mahatma Gandhi, who had always lent highest value to cleanliness, and our popular Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through this people’s campaign.
He said that it is essential to make the cities and towns clean and green. The Gujarat Government is marching ahead to make the cities world-class. This achievement should encourage people to keep up the tempo.
The Chief Minister thanked the Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for making special reference of Gujarat Government’s efforts to make cities clean.
