Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Consul General of Canada in Mumbai Ms. Diedrah Kelly pays courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel here in Gandhinagar.
The duo discussed on mutual relation and participation opportunities especially in the fields of education-investment-green clean technology Between Canada-India and Gujarat.
Consul General Ms. Diedrah Kelly appreciated the support from the state government and lauded that Canada has focused on multiple opportunities in sectors including automotive, clean tech-renewable energy, education, infrastructure, life sciences and has started a Trade Commissioner Service Office in Ahmedabad. Special focus was also given on lakhs of students visiting Canada from Gujarat for studies.
The Chief Minister said that Gift City, India’s financial and technology gateway with world-class infrastructure, offers huge opportunities for Canadian financial institutions, FinTech companies and Canadian pension funds. He also invited Canadian institutions to come and invest in Gift City.
The Chief Minister also directed the Canadian companies to explore investment opportunities in Gujarat for research and innovation in clean energy, green mobility, solar, wind, grid integration and green hydrogen technology for green energy.
The Consul General of Canada in Mumbai also briefed about the Canadian industrial wastewater management technology and recycled water projects in slum areas.
Gujarat Chief Minister presented a replica of the Statue of Unity to Ms. Kelly and invited her to visit the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity.
Acting Additional Chief Secretary of Industry Department Shri Rajkumar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi, Industries Commissioner Shri Rahul Gupta and official were present during the courtesy visit.
