Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and due to the newly launched Cinematic Tourism Policy, Gujarat has become the preferred destination for film shooting and production, besides boosting its tourism sector – Chief Minister
Addressing a pre-event Summit dedicated to exploring Gujarat’s prospects in the film industry, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel emphasized that under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state’s all-encompassing progress has unveiled fresh growth opportunities within the tourism sector. The Gujarat Government introduced Gujarat’s inaugural Cinematic Tourism Policy in 2022, aiming to promote film production within the state.
The Chief Minister extended an invitation to prominent personalities from the film industry, encouraging them to make the most of Gujarat’s Cinematic Tourism Policy and explore Gujarat as a premier destination for their film projects.
The CM addressed filmmakers, artists, and industry leaders from Mumbai, during the pre-event gathering for the upcoming 69th Filmfare Awards in Gujarat.
During his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that events like the Filmfare Awards, hosted in Gujarat, would undoubtedly become a historic milestone for the cinematic and tourism community within the state. Moreover, such events will generate new employment opportunities across various sectors, including tourism, cultural promotion, event management, and transportation.
He described the MoU signed between the state’s tourism department and World Wide Media for planning of the 69th Filmfare Awards in Gujarat as the biggest achievement for Gujarat.
The CM further stated that through tourism, Gujarat has fulfilled the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’
He highlighted the numerous achievements during Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister that were aimed at boosting tourism and film production in Gujarat. Initiatives such as “Khushbu Gujarat Ki,” “Kutch Nahi Dekha To Kuch Nahi Dekha,” and “Kuch Din To Gujaarie Gujarat Mein,” all launched during his leadership, continue to resonate with the people of the nation. Thus, Gujarat has earned the title of the ‘most preferred destination’ for both film shooting and film production, as well as a top tourist destination.
Gujarat boasts numerous world-class tourist destinations equipped with perfect facilities for film shooting. In this context, he thoroughly discussed locations like the Blue Flag-certified Shivrajpur Beach, Saputara, the Gir Forests, the Kutch Desert, the Statue of Unity, and the accompanying tourist hotspots.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that when the film industry establishes itself in a state, it fosters the growth of the entire ecosystem around it. The production of a film not only directly benefits the industry but also has a ripple effect on various other sectors, leading to substantial advantages and the creation of employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly.
Notable leaders of the film production expressed a keen interest in learning about Gujarat’s tourist attractions and appealing shooting locations. Shri Harit Shukla, the Tourism Secretary, provided an in-depth overview of the state government’s initiatives aimed at promoting tourism and supporting film production.
Notable dignitaries at the event were Shri Mulabhai Bera, the Minister of Tourism, Shri Balwantsinh Rajput, the Minister of Industries,
Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma, the Minister of State for Industries, Mr. Rajkumar, the Chief Secretary, Mr K. Kailashanathan, the Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, as well as senior secretaries from the state government.
The gathering also marked the presence of film producers, artists, industry professionals, and leaders from the world of cinema.
