Positive consultation on establishment of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority Office in GIFT City
Discussions on the development of a state-of-the-art food park in Gujarat under I2U2, focusing on aspects such as a processing house, warehouse facilities, and opportunities for long-term participation
Gandhinagar 2 August 2023: UAE Ambassador to India Dr. Abdulnasser Alshaali met Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. During the discussions, the Chief Minister mentioned the recent meeting between Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on July 15.
In this context, Hon’ble Chief Minister said, “There was a productive consultation regarding the establishment of the office of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in GIFT City.” “This will result in easier investment opportunities for the UAE in India”, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the world-class fintech hub being developed at GIFT City will become a platform for global expansion and capital funding for fintech start-ups.
UAE Ambassador Dr. Abdulnasser spoke about the initiative on food security between India, Israel, the USA, and the UAE as part of the I2U2 Summit.
He talked about land acquisition and other long-term partnerships for processing, ware-housing etc to be developed in the state-of-the-art- food park in Gujarat and showed readiness for the same.
The Chief Minister invited UAE companies and wealth funds to partner in sectors like clean energy, green mobility, and climate financing.
In this meeting, the CM gave the role of a successful series of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit being held under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel invited the UAE to participate in the 10th edition of the Vibrant Summit to be held in January-2024.
He reminded that UAE has been a partner country in the Vibrant Summit 2017 and 2019.
The UAE ambassador expressed interest in developing long-term relations with Gujarat.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri K. Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Shri S.J. Haider and senior secretaries were present in this meeting.
