    Gandhinagar, Tuesday:  Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah today laid the foundation stone of 150 bed modern hospital managed under Kamdar vima yojana and performed ground breaking of 750 bed Adarsh Multi Specialty Hospital managed by Umia Mata Kadwa Patidar Education Trust at Kalol in Gandhinagar district.

    In the next two years, modern health services will be available at the doorsteps to the citizens of Kalol and surrounding areas. Along with Adarsh Multispeciality Hospital, he also called on the management to establish a medical college. The students of entire North Gujarat will get the benefit of patient services along with the study of medical science, if this medical college comes true in the coming time.

    Mr. Amitbhai Shah said that the 150-bed fully modern hospital to be constructed under the kamdar vima yojana will provide better medical services to the laborers and workers working in Kalol, Kadi and Chhatral and surrounding areas. Not only this, all the citizens of Kalol city and taluka will also be benefitted. He expressed the determination that this hospital will also be inaugurated before January 24.

    The trust has resolved to provide free treatment to up to 35% poor patients in the 750-bed Adarsh ​​Multispecialty Hospital to be constructed in Kalol. Treatment will also be available to all citizens registered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana in this hospital. He said that this modern hospital is going to be of great service to the region.

    Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has done a great job by reviving Sevarat Kamdar Bima Yojana across the country under the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Under the leadership of Union Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Yadav, superior works are being done in this field. In the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency itself, the foundation stone of a 150-bed hospital was recently laid in Sanand. The hospital will benefit around 1,30,000 workers working in the area. Till now there was only one public health center in the area where only 10 beds services were available.

    Shri Shah said that, 60 crore poor people of the country have been covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Free treatment of up to five lakh rupees is being provided to all of them. Before this, many poor elders could not afford expensive treatment. Rs. 64,000 crore has been allocated under the Ayushman Health Infrastructure Mission in India. This initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi for good health of the poor has brought a radical change in India. About 35,000 new beds including intensive care facilities are being made available in more than 600 districts of the country. It is planned to start Integrated Public Health Laboratories in 730 districts. Not only this, the Government of India has allocated a budget of Rs 1,600 crore to start research centers.

    Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, while comparing the performance and planning of previous governments said that in the year 2013-14, there were only 387 medical colleges in India, both government and private. Today in the year 2021-22 there are 600 medical colleges functioning in the country. Eight years ago, there were 51,348 MBBS seats in India. Which has increased to 89,875 in the year 2021-22. The seats for post-graduation medical studies of the degrees like MD and MS have also increased from 31,185 to 60,202.

    Medical science services have doubled in just eight years as compared to the 75 years of medical science facilities. 10 new AIIMS hospitals are coming up in the near future. And the plan to create 22 new AIIMS will be announced soon, he added. Stating that health services have also improved significantly in Gujarat, Shri Amit Shah said that due to the efforts of the state government in Gujarat, there has been significant improvement in institutional delivery, infant mortality and maternal mortality. Now, 96 out of every 100 delivery happens in the hospitals. Gender ratio has also improved in Gujarat. Earlier, the ratio of daughters against 1000 sons was 866. Today, it has reached 955 of against 1000 sons.

    A special campaign has been conducted in Gujarat to ensure that serious diseases like TB and cancer are treated in the early stages. 80% of citizens in rural areas of Gandhinagar district have been preliminarily screened. He said that during this drive, 137 patients were identified who did not even know they had cancer. As timely treatment can be started for all such patients, their chances of good life expectancy are greatly increased.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that this is the right direction of the public welfare regime that the society joins the government. The ground-breaking ceremony of this new hospital in the Kalol area will help the workers of the industrial estate and the surrounding areas and their families along with the needy patients of the villages around Kalol. He added that if any small or big problem related to health arises in a person, he has to bear the cost of medicine-hospital-laboratory test. Any illness brings financial crisis to a normal family. He expressed confidence that the hospital dedicated today will realize ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya’ in the coming days.

The Chief Minister said that this government is not only providing health care, but multi-faceted social security to workers and their families through this scheme. We also provide free treatment in government hospitals. Organized sector workers in Gujarat get ESIC benefits but we have gone beyond that. We are also providing the benefits of the government scheme to the workers engaged in construction business in the unorganized sector by giving them U-WIN card.

    Union Labor Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav said that all the languages of the country should be given importance, while starting his speech in Gujarati language, he said that good health is an important key to a happy life. ESIC is an important scheme of Government of India. 13.5 lakh beneficiaries across the country are benefiting from this.

    He added that the Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi is concerned about the health of every citizen of the country. Many health-related schemes have been implemented so that no citizen of the country faces health problems. PMJY is a good example. ESIC is working in conjunction with PMJY scheme. It started in two districts of the country. Currently working in 157 districts. Concerned about the health of workers, this government is going to construct a 150-bed ESIC hospital at a cost of Rs 150 crore in 4.50 acres in Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. This modern hospital will benefit the citizens of Kalol, Kadi and surrounding areas and around one lakh laborers.

    Managing Director of Adarsh Hospital and former MLA Shri Atul Patel welcomed the dignitaries and spoke in detail about the facilities of the 750-bed hospital to be constructed in Kalol. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Labor Minister Shri Rameshwar Teli, State Health Minister Shri Rushikesh Patel, Panchayat Minister Shri Brijesh Merja and Kalol were present.
