Union HM reviews the preliminary preparations for the 2036 Olympics to be held in Gujarat

    Chief Minister and Sports Minister joins the high level meeting

    Shri Amit Shah directs to create infrastructure with time bound planning

    Gandhinagar, Sunday: Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah chaired a high level meeting in Ahmedabad in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Sports Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi. He directed for development of international level infrastructure in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave, shaping near Narendra Modi Stadium for hosting of the Games included in Olympics-2036. 

    The Union Home Minister also directed that the work of creating the necessary infrastructure in this sports enclave should be carried out in a time-bound manner. He also gave the necessary guidance in this meeting to ensure that the necessary sports infrastructure, accommodation facilities for players-coaches etc. are set up in accordance with the rules and norms of the Olympics in the places identified by the state government for the games of the Olympics 2036 in Gujarat. He also reviewed the progress made on the recommendations made in the first meeting held before this meeting. 

    Mr. Amitbhai Shah also suggested that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel and Sports Minister Mr. Harsh Sanghvi review the work planned by the state government. 

    Elaborate strategy formulation for organizing the next Olympics in Gujarat in a grand manner was also discussed in this meeting. The Union Home Minister also visited the Naranpura Sports Complex before this meeting and made necessary suggestions. 

    Chief Secretary Shri. Pankajkumar, Principal Secretary Urban Development Shri. Mukesh Kumar and Principal Secretary Sports Cultural Activities Department Shri Ashwani Kumar joined the meeting. 

    A presentation on Gujarat’s preparations for Olympics-2036 was flashed in this meeting. Auda CEO Shri D.P. Desai and senior officials were present in this meeting.
