Gandhinagar, Monday: Ambassador of USA to India Mr. Eric Garcetti paid courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.
This is his first visit to Gujarat after assuming the charge as the USA Ambassador to India in March-2023.
Expressing his delightfulness for the warm welcome he received during his visit to Gujarat, Ambassador Mr. Eric Garcetti expressed his expectation that US and India can work together in the areas of bilateral trade relations, economic empowerment of women and net zero carbon economy.
The US Ambassador expressed keenness to collaborate with India and Gujarat on the U-20, Olympic Games and the upcoming Vibrant Summit. He also extended a heartfelt invitation to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to visit Los Angeles.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel during this visit said that Gujarat is the first choice destination for investment. He also said that the long-term relationship between the US and Gujarat has been further enhanced by continuous interactions and high-level engagements.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ of keeping everyone together on the path of development will be realized through this courtesy meeting.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Gujarat contributes 14 percent to the country’s total renewable energy capacity and is developing towards becoming the world’s largest 30 GW solar and wind energy park.
In this regard, the Chief Minister boosted the American companies to explore opportunities for cooperation and investments in the renewable energy space for research and innovation in renewable energy projects, grid integration and green hydrogen technology to promote clean energy, green mobility and green manufacturing.
Not only this, the Chief Minister invited American fintech companies and tech startups to explore opportunities in sectors like artificial intelligence, machine learning, block chain, cyber security in Gift City, India’s first green field smart city.
Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Shri Haider and officials of US Embassy and senior secretaries of Gujarat government were present in this courtesy visit meeting.
