Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel invites US Consul General David Ranz to Gujarat Vibrant Summit, and US firms to Defence Expo
Even as 120 US companies are working in Gujarat, Chief Minister looks forward for more industries under Atmanirbhar Bharat
US envoy express desire for more bilateral relation with Gujarat in higher education, social empowerment, climate change
Gandhinagar, Saturday: United State of America Consul General David Ranz in Mumbai, representing western zone including Gujarat and Maharashtra, paid a courtesy call on Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel here today.
Mr. Ranz had earlier visited the Statue of Unity (SOU) at Kevadiya, Vadodara and Ahmedabad before meeting Mr. Patel here.
Giving an idea of the SOU, Mr. Patel said it is the world’s tallest statue as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, now drawing a large number of domestic as well as international tourists to the site, humming with activity providing jobs to many local people.
Mr. Patel apprised the visiting envoy about scope of greater US participation in Gujarat’s ongoing big-ticket projects like 30,000 MW Hybrid Energy Park in Kutch, GIFT City being developed as a Banking and Financial Hub.
The Chief Minister extended invitation to Mr. Ranz to the forthcoming Gujarat Government’s biennial flagship event Vibrant Summit and invite to US companies to participate in Defence Expo in March 2022.
He said that 120 USA companies are working in Gujarat, and expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral relation between Gujarat and the USA in trade and economic matters, set up new industries as semiconductor. Gujarat has received USD 11.36 billion FDI.
Mr. Ranz thanked Mr. Patel for Gujarat Government’s positive approach and evinced interest for more US participation and cooperation in higher education, social empowerment, meet challenges in climate change.

Kailashnathan, Additional Chief secretary for Industries Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Secretary Avantika Singh, Industries Commissioner Rahul Gupta, iNDEXTb Managing Director Nilam Rani.
