CM assigns various responsibilities to secretaries of GoG to fight against possible third wave of Covid-19

State Government assigns Senior Secretaries tasks of fighting likely third wave of Covid-19 to augment healthcare infrastructure, real-time monitoring of availability of facilities  

Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today assigned senior IAS officers the various responsibilities as nodal officers to augment healthcare infrastructure, real-time monitoring of hospital facilities available in the state to fight likely third wave of pandemic coronavirus Covid-19 to ensure minimum patients get infected.

He announced detailed Advanced Action Plan at a high-level Core Committee meeting here in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, Energy Minister Saurabh Patel, Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja and others.

The officers begin their job from tomorrow on a war footing and the plan has to be put in place in three months.

Mr. Rupani said that let us all pray to God the third wave doesn’t happen, but all preparations have to be done to ensure minimum cases and deaths. We have to be ready with adequate number of beds, medicines, injections, kits, and ensure patients access to hospital facilities easily.

Plan is to have state-of-the-art Command and Control Centres at district level to be directly linked to the state-level CM Dashboard at the Chief Minister’s residence here for real-time monitoring.

The Chief Minister also called for widening the reach of vaccination programme from larger cities to smaller towns down to villages, on the lines of polling booths, with the collaboration of NGOs, social organisations and office-bearers.

Others present at the meeting included Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary M.K. Das, and Additional Chief Secretary for Health Manoj Agrawal.

The responsibility has been assigned to the following nodal officers:

Mr. Manoj Agrawal convener and Mr. Jay Prakash Shivahare as co-convener of State Task Force on Covid.

Mr. Milind Torwane and Mr. Sandeep Vasava – hospital infrastructure.

Mr. Dhananjay Dwivedi and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar – oxygen supply and PSAs.

Mr. Manoj Kumar Das and Mr. Harit Shukla – medicines, equipment, CT scan, RTPCR lab and other purchases.

Mr. Vijay Nehra and Mr. Sachin Gusia – state command and control room and district command and control room and Dashboard.

Ms. Manisha Chandra – 108 Ambulance

Mr. K.K. Nirala – Dhanvantari and Sanjivani Raths.

Mr. Pankaj Joshi and Mr. Jay Prakash Shivahare – HR and Training.

Mr. P Swarup and Mr. M.A. Pandya – vaccination.

Ms. Avantika Singh Chouhan – Telemedicine.

Mr. Vijay Nehra – Genome Sequencing.

Ms. Sonal Mishra – Maru Gram; Corona Mukt Gram.

Mr. Raj Kumar Beniwal – Maro Ward; Corona Mukt and Vaccination Yukt.
