“Young India” is strength of India. New Generation should build “New India”: CM Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani

Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today called on youths to get inspired by the latest technological tool ‘Hackathon’ to resolve the issues like social sector, health, education and others that are directly connected to the common mass.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organized in Gandhinagar by Higher and Technical Education Department to honour the winners of ‘Smart India Hackathon-2018’.

Mr. Rupani asserted that it is need and demand of the hours that youth must get bind with new innovations and technologies for building “New India”. To give needed thrust to young brains of India, Gujarat has taken initiative in “Student Start-up Innovation Policy (SSIP) and Hackathon” for finding solutions using the technology.

Giving instances of the problems needed to be resolved using technologies, Mr. Rupani pointed out at the problems such as urbanization, cleanliness, traffic and others. The Chief Minister also stated that to introduce fresh elements in the systems and to inspire new innovations Rs. 200-crore has been allocated for the SSIP.

The Chief Minister also urged the youths, aged between 18-40 years, to join SSIP and Hackathon to show their talents and to create enthusiastic environment.

Gujarat Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama stated that youths of Gujarat have shown more activeness in the SSIP, compared to other states of the country. He also expressed a hope that youths from Gujarat will participate and shine-out at the Hackathon competitions of national and international levels.

“Smart Gujarat for New India Hackathon-2018’ competition had attracted registration from as many as 1434 teams, consisting of 9804 students, for 213 problem statements.

The six universities, which got selected in phase-iii of the SSIP, were given a cheque of Rs. 35-lakh as a grant.

The occasion was also graced by deputy chief minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel, minister of state Mrs. Vibhawariben Dave, ministers – Mr. Ishwarbhai Parmar, Mr. Parbatbhai Patel, and Mr. Vasanbhai Ahir – Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh and other senior officials and others.
