Karyashala under ‘Subhash Palekar Organic Farming’ in presence of Governor, CM and Deputy CM
Governor of Gujarat Mr. Acharya Devvratji, Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel marked their presence in a one day Karyashala under the ‘Subhash Palekar Organic Farming’ held at Mahatma Mandir today.
Addressing the audience, the Governor remembered his term as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh where he made efforts to gather as many as 500 farmers and encourage them towards organic farming. What started as a step turned out to be a great march. Within no time as many as 10 thousand farmers joined organic farming there. He talked about the benefits of the Subhash Palekar Organic Farming which focusses on environmental friendly methods and materials. Mr. Devvratji urged the people to conserve water and act as responsible citizens to save the planet in the days to come.
Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani expressed a firm resolve of the state government to take steps in promoting organic farming. He said, “The Karyashala has been organised at the correct point of time. Today, when leaders across the world are taking numerous steps to combat climate change and save environment, the Subhash Palekar Organic Farming will act as a boon for farmers in India. It is the need of the hour to adopt sustainable methods of agriculture so that the benefits of a better and healthy environment can be shared by one and all.”
The methods prescribed under this type of farming are environment friendly and promote the use of organic materials. The CM also expressed a firm resolve to create a Plastic-free Gujarat and increase the Happiness Index in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel said, “The farmers of Gujarat are marching towards a new era of agriculture. Their inclination towards organic farming will make Gujarat a path maker for India in this area.” He affirmed that the initiative started by the Governor will reap better results in the days to come.
Minister of Agriculture from the Union Government Mr.Purshottam Rupala said, “ The Karyashala is a step towards realizing the mission and vision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. It will accelerate his mission to double the income of farmers.”
Padmashree Mr. Subhash Palekar said, “ I congratulate the entire state administration for showing a firm resolve to adopt organic farming.” He said that organic farming is the way ahead.
As many as 50 lakh farmers follow the Subhash Palekar Organic Farming in India today.
Ministers of state government, MLAs, Chief Principal Secretary to the CM Mr. K. Kailashnathan, Chief Secretary Dr. J.N Singh, experts from the field, and a large number of people were present during the event.
