State officials to be connected with CM Dashboard functions in order to strengthen good governance

Gandhinagar, Monday: Under the direct guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani, the State Government has taken an important decision to include the role and function of CM Dashboard in good governance, which is functional at CM’s residence and connects CM to CITIZEN, in the training course of Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration-SPIPA.

In order to strengthen good governance, the role and function of CM Dashboard will be included in the training course of SPIPA for the purpose of connecting Gujarat government officials with real time monitoring done through CM Dashboard.

A training program was held at the CM Dashboard today to understand the functionality of the CM Dashboard and ‘Jan Samvad Kendra’, including which dashboard indicators should be included in the training provided by SPIPA to the officers.

In the inaugural session of this training program, the officer on special duty of CM, Mr. D. H. Shah briefed the SPIPA officials on the functioning of CM Dashboard, real time monitoring system, role of Dashboard in good governance, coordination of CM Dashboard with various government offices at state and district level.

The entire training was conducted by Mr. Hitesh Gohil, Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister. Mr. Anand Shah, Mr. Shailesh Khanesha and Mr. Pinak Desai from NIC were present on the occasion.

In Gujarat’s 26 government departments, all 33 districts from Ambaji to Umargam and Kutch to Dahod, 249 talukas, cities and more than 18,000 villages – interior areas, who received the benefits of schemes, development works how and when – whether they have received the benefits, how can its factual responses be obtained with a single click in seconds by speaking directly? With this in mind, the first thought came to Mr. Vijay Rupani to start an integrated system of connecting CM to CITIZEN. Not only that, followed by the meeting with techno savvy officials in order to quickly implement this idea, for the first time in the country, a new entirely technology-based system was started as CM DASHBOARD at the Chief Minister’s residence in Gandhinagar from 2018.

The CM Dashboard, working with the latest digital technology, based on four pillars defined by the Chief Minister for efficient administration – Transparency, Progressiveness, Sensitivity and Decisiveness and on the “5C” concept – Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Combat, fulfils the vision of CM Mr. Vijay Rupani.

To ensure efficient administration in the state, to provide real time information of public interest schemes and their gradual progress and feedback from beneficiaries and to continuously monitor the multi-faceted development schemes, CM Dashboard and its affiliated ‘Jan Samvad Kendra’ have so far communicated with approximately four lakh beneficiaries of various schemes and information has been obtained.

Under the CM Dashboard, all the districts of Gujarat and all the different administrative departments monitor schemes on a single window platform through 3,400 pre-determined indicators. It is from this platform that the Chief Minister continuously monitors the administrative functions of all the important officers of the state. Officers at taluka, district and state level are given ranking based on their performance from A+, A, B and C grades.

Officers from almost all the departments of the state such as Secretary, Head of Department and officers working in the field are connected through this CM DASHBOARD.

A brief about the functioning of CM Dashboard was given to 18 key officers of SPIPA Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in this one-day training held at Gandhinagar today. Also, discussion on the points to be included in the training curriculum was held.
