    Ahmedabad, June 25, 2017: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today greeted the people of Gujarat on the Kutchi New Year Asadhi Bij (second lunar day of the bright moon) from the famous pilgrims centre of Shri Parabdham near Vavdi village in Bhesan taluka in Junagadh district.

    Addressing a large pilgrims assembly at Parabdham nestled in the foothills of the Girnar hills, he remembered the contributions of Sant Devidasbapu and Amar in social work.

    He assured the people of the region the Narmada waters would soon reach Veraval-Somnath through the SAUNI scheme. With the completion of the SAUNI project, he said, the farmers could sow rupee to reap in dollars with value additions to produce world-class crops. He reiterated that his government’s commitment to observe the rules of governance as enshrined in the Dharma, and its top priority is to uphold the farmers’ interests.

    Mr. Rupani said the state government has earmarked Rs.100-crore to check the potato and onion prices falling further due to bumper crop this year. The government is buying groundnut and tuar dal at minimum support price.

    He said that his government mulls the idea of setting up ‘Nandi Ghar’ in each taluka of the state to ensure people get Gir and Kankrej breed cow milk value-added products in each village. He hoped the Gauvansh Act-2017 would prove to be a boon for the state’s development.

    Parabdham heads Sant Karshandas, Rajendradaji and others felicitated the Chief Minister.

    Those present on the occasion included Food and Civil Supplies Minister Jayesh Radadiya, MP Rajeshbhai Chudasma, BJP Mahila Morcha President Anjaliben Rupani and a large number of disciples and pilgrims.
