Gujarat CM lays foundation stone of iconic bus terminal at Rajkot

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani today laid foundation stone of new central bus terminal with modernized facilities, dedicated BS-IV modern Volvo bus and launched android application of GSRTC named “Track your bus” in Rajkot. On the occasion he said that today the dream of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is going to fulfill to provide bus-stand like airport and luxury buses with modernize comfortable facilities to people.

CM Shri Rupani said that this GSRTC bus-stand will be built with a cost of Rs. 100 crore and will provide facilities such as food-zone, shopping mall etc to facilitate the passengers. Gujarat is the first state in India to begin BS-IV buses in its’ State Transport Corporation. Such modernize four terminals have been initiated in our state and we are going to lay foundation stone of more 14 in the state, he added.

Today the State Transport Corporation has provided more than 50 Volvo buses are running in different long routes to facilitate people. And the buses have been equipped with GPS system, electronic sign board and mobile app etc facilities. We are going to provide facilities of international air-port in the modernize bus-terminal of Rajkot. With adding modern buses in ST, it will be useful for environmental conservation as well. These buses will run on long routes such as Rajkot-Mumbai, Ahmedabad-Pune, Surat-Jaipur via Ahmedabad, he added.

On the occasion, Transport Minister Shri Vallabhbhai Kakadiya, MP Shri Mohanbhai Kundariya, MLAs Shri Govindbhai Patel, Smt. Bhanuben Babariya, Rajkot Mayor Dr. Jaiminbhai Upadhyay, dignitaries from government and state corporation offices, office-bearers, Principal Secretary to ST Corporation Shri Vipul Mitra, MD to GSRTC Shri Vijay Nehra, ST Corporation officials, District Collector and local people were remained present.
